Several of us went out to Bridge Field for the first fun fly of the year. It was chilly and a bit gusty in the morning but the cloud cleared later and it was pleasant in the sunshine.
Spent an hour or so warming up with the Oke Stiks before the serious matter of racing started. We set up a triangular course of 3oom and a group decision was to race together. Michael, Gary and Rob set off on the first run. It was a bit crazy as we were cutting corners and having to go back around again. The lead changed hands a couple of times but Michael came out the winner in all 3 races. Gary and Rob were each runners up in the others. We were amazed at lap times of less than 20 seconds.
It was a great experience to be part of and touch and go with the models seemingly feet apart at times. We were all more at home at anti-clockwise racing and battled at one attempt at clockwise.
Michael brought out a foamy trainer and buddy system. Little Orlando had his first lessons on this set up and was so excited. We had a great day.
Thanks to all of you that made the day.
