The April FunFly was held over until May 6th due to the weather, there was a really good attendance, both regular competitions were well contested.

Since inception of the Oke Stik, there has yet to be an Oke Stik Race without casulties! May’s event was no exception – collision with pylon!

Shed move from Bridge Field to 18 Acre

Finally the club’s original wooden shed (donated by Rob) was moved from it’s first home at Bridge Field to the club’s 18 Acre field. Felix provided the transport, Gary, Simon, Paul, Rob, and Andrew the lifting! Photographs by Paul.

The shed will provide additional storage, and could become the club’s on site facility!

Excellent sunny weather and light winds for the last Funfly of this year.  Great turn out, with some superb flying by all.

The Oke Stik race challenge was won by Geoff Pratley, following a close run fly off, pipping Gary to the line. Well done Geoff, who keeps the trophy until next season. Some great Scale heli’s on display today, new member David Matthews (Hughes) and John Ansell’s  (Llama  – foreground left & Chinook, minus fuselage to right)

Geoff wins the Oke Stik Trophy.

Last man down gliding competition, was hotly contested and won by Simon Vallance after Andrew narrowly missed the runway. (I promise to get out of the way quicker, next time Andrew)

Club FunFly September 29th 2018

Postponement until Sept 29th was a positive move, well selected Gary!

The weather was glorious with very light but variable breezes. Some really good flying and splendid scale models brought along and flown by Phil. Here a couple of snappy shots of Phil’s Fokker D VII.

Regrettably, the quality of the photographs does not do justice to the attention to detail and finish of the build!

The club usual competitions took place – Oke Stik Race was won by Gary, seen here the trophy being presented by club chairman Rob.

September Aerotow

The club organised an aerotow event from the 12th to 16th September. Although there weren’t many that availed themselves, those that came had a great time.

Saturday the 15th was the best attended. There were some good thermals around and Graham Tolhurst recorded a flight of 55 minutes and reached 2200 feet on that flight.

Thanks to Felix for all the work and lots of tows on Saturday and to his wife Verity for pilot registration. Thank you to all the all the club members who came to help over the period.
