Wonderful afternoon for flying yesterday, Saturday 14th Sept. Glorious sunshine and I managed to get some video footage of John Ansell flying his superb model of a Chinook helicopter. Apologies for the quality but film taken on my mobile phone.

Finally after one pound weight added to nose, mossie balances nicely on the CofG stand; Checks done. All ready for maiden.
After a lengthy build spanning 7 years (Had a few breaks of a year plus at times) I finally got to fly my 72″ span Mosquito at Davidstow airfield. A fitting venue which was well utilised during WW2. The model is built off a Brian Taylor plan, which I bought from Sarik Hobbies along with the laser cut balsa kit. I will post a separate article showing photo’s of some of the build for anyone that’s interested. The maiden flight overall was very smooth and the model tracked well, only hitch upon returning to earth was the landing gear bent backwards causing the model to nose over and come to a stop. No damage done thankfully and just a rework of the retracts to sort; happy days.
Another well attended event which everyone enjoyed with good conditions and lots of laughs.

There was a good attendance, circa 20 pilots at a guess, for the above aero tow and fly in at Exbourne and the weather really played ball with sun, high fluffy clouds and only the occasional thermal breeze, visibility excellent. What was also good is that you get to drive over a field, always fun that!
